Why is it in every group there has to be some crazy person that refuses to follow the rules or believes the rules don't apply to them? They are usually the ones that try to change the rules to benefit themselves by raising a stink about them. Usually it is that same person that has the old delapidated car parked in their driveway and more stuff in their yard then in their house (but I would not want to look to verify that).
With most things there has to be a line drawn somewhere dividing what is acceptable and what is not acceptable. There is always going to be someone who is not happy with that line. I don't agree that chickens should be allowed in the city. They are nasty, noisy animals. They are good for eating only after they have been killed, cleaned, and sanitized. Most people don't keep them as pets. Didn't your mamma ever tell you not to get raw chicken juice on your other food or food preparartion surfaces? Why do you think that is? Chickens belong on a farm or in a food processing plant. Why? Because they are food, not pets. Sure some idiots have chickens as pets. You can name just about any animal and some fool some place probably has one as a pet. They cannot be like the rest of us and have a cat or a dog. The line that is drawn that says no chickens is fine with me. Erase it or move it and soon the weirdos will have all sorts of animals living next door to us sane people. I can already imagine waking up in the morning and seeing an ostrich peeking over the fence at me from my weird next door neighbor's house.
